Fever is sometimes defined as a state of heightened or intense emotion or activity. So, when we were thinking of a title for Airdance's first summer dance workshop, it sort of fell into place (Of course, that John Travolta movie did help a little). And what better way to spend the summer than learning to dance and experience performing for a live audience?

And intense activity it is! Over the past 6 weeks, the students have been learning different forms of dance including jazz, street grooves, breakdancing, and modern ballet. They have trained hard, almost everyday. But more than just a way to keep fit, dance is a form of expression capable of showing heightened emotions: joy, sadness, love, or delight. So here we are, perhaps a bit more limber and with a few dance moves to show off, ready to perform in special choreographies by the Faculty of Airdance.

But more important than the steps are the things that one learns from dance: that everything, from the smallest hand gesture to the biggest leap, is important; that everybody must contribute to make the performance great; that there are no second chances so we have to give it our best… always. (Of course, one should also be more than glad to have fun along the way.) Hopefully, these are lessons that are to be remembered and applied throughout one's life.

So to all the workshop students, we hope that you learned from us as much as we learned from you. To all the parents, this event would not have been a success had it not been for your support. And to all our family and friends, thank you for experiencing Summer Airdance Fever with us.
