Airdance is proud to have been part of PULSO: FILIPINO DANCE GALA 2018. A dance production celebrating unity in dance and showcasing the country’s outstanding artists and dance groups, PULSO FILIPINAS highlights the Philippines’ diverse dance culture with works ranging from ethnic/folk, contemporary, hip-hop/jazz, ballroom to classical ballet. Under the artistic direction of Paul Morales, the event also includes Body Talks: workshops, forum, dance talks, and other dance appreciation activities.
PULSO FILIPINAS promotes Synergy in Philippine Dance with a grand gathering of major dance companies including the CCP Resident Companies namely Ballet Philippines, Bayanihan, The National Dance Company of the Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theatre, and the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group; Bacolod City's Dance Pull Project; University-based Dance Companies such as UPDC - University of the Philippines Dance Company; and various groups from the NCR including Ballet Manila, Airdance, GForce_Official, Philippine Allstars OG and Belinda Adora Ensemble. It also features performances of Abbey Carlos & Michael Barry Arbas Que and Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Ligaya Amilbangsa with the AlunAlun Dance Circle.
PULSO FILIPINAS also includes “Body Talks” from June 20 to 30 in various CCP venues. This includes the following activities: Arts Online talk with Paul Alexander Morales, open rehearsals, roundtable discussions with dance organizations, dance talk (“Dignity and Character-Building through the Discipline of Dance”) with Ms. Gina Katigbak, and lecture (“Modern Dance History”) by Gia Gequinto. There will also be dance workshops on hip-hop, ballroom, modern dance and adult ballet.
